On a bright and sunny Monday afternoon in Washington DC, Richard decided to take some time off work to get his yearly dental cleaning done. On his way from his appointment, he decided to make a detour to the Costco store located off South Dakota in NE DC. While in the store, he came across a sweet young lady who seemed interested in examining the fruits on display. To his surprise, he realized that the woman accompanying her was not her grandmother but rather a visitor who was trying to show her how to shop for good fruits.

Intrigued by the situation, Richard seized the opportunity to approach Margaret after the lady walked off. Introducing himself as Richard, he asked for her name. She replied that she was Margaret, and he noticed that she quickly removed her mask, revealing her beautiful features. But she was Impressed by Richard’s white set of teeth, she quickly complimented him on his “nice teeth,” Richard responded with a confident smile. Richard then asked her where she’s from, and she replied that she is from Nigeria, he mentioned that he is Jamaican, and he responded with his own cultural reference, saying, “I am from Jamaica, (Nigerian & Jamaican) green, green.” As they continued their conversation, Richard observed that Margaret seemed to need assistance with shopping. Recognizing this, he offered to give her his number, hoping that they could connect later on.

As the day came to an end, Richard returned home, feeling excited about the possibility of a potential connection with Margaret. As he sipped on his favorite wine and enjoyed a quiet evening alone, WATCHING HOME ALONE, he received a text from her, which further fueled his anticipation. The text from Margaret read, “Hi Richard, this Margaret from “Costco” just checking in, Richard’s heart swelled with joy as he read the message. Little did he know, his encounter with the sweet young Margaret would lead him on an unexpected adventure. Richard wondered to himself, if it was at Costco, of all places, that our paths crossed in an unexpected way. The store, known for its vast array of products, became the backdrop for a divine encounter. It was in that moment that we realized that God had brought us together, even in the most mundane of places.

On the day of our first date, both of us arrived at the designated location with anticipation. Little did we know that this encounter would mark the beginning of an extraordinary journey. As we sat down, we began to share our respective experiences of finding solace in the presence of the Lord. It was evident that we shared a deep love and passion for worship and also a desire to serve the Lord in our respective. Through our shared burden for Christ and a shared love for worship, we discovered that our paths were meant to intertwine. Today, we continue our spiritual journey and love together, knowing that God’s plans are beyond human comprehension.
